Position Summary
In partnership with the Director of Safety & Asset Protection and ADUSA Distribution &Transportation Campus Leadership, provide direction and support to a designated ADUSA campus to provide positive/proactive leadership and instruction in security/asset protection. Lead and execute all asset protection, safety and security strategies for the DC that foster a safe working environment, Ensure the protection of company assets, associates and operations through proactive risk mitigation, compliance enforcement investigative excellence. This will be accomplished while preventing crime and loss to the company through policies and procedures, use of technology, strategies, and training programs within the scope of ADUSA Distribution &Transportation core values, while working closely with Regional and Site Leadership.This position has a strong dotted line reporting relationship to distribution center Campus Director.
Primary Duties & What you’ll be Trusted to Deliver
This position will have responsibility for the security and asset protection function at the designated distribution center including transportation oversight and compliance. Oversee safety and security of personnel, property, and facilities; ensure compliance with company policies; maintain effective communication across teams.
Leadership & Team Development
- Leads and develops the security team by recruiting, training, coaching, and managing personnel; oversees staffing plans, handles employee issues, and ensures contract compliance.
- Oversight of ensuring security inspection of all facilities on campus and of distribution security processes
- Oversee other audits and internal control processes as applicable; reports findings to supply chain leadership/site leadership.
- Supports and leads emergency preparedness drills, including tornado, fire, and other crisis response exercises.
Distribution Security/Asset Control:
- Manages, tests, and maintains physical security systems, including, but not limited to CCTV, intrusion alarms, fire alarms, access control, proper lighting levels, adequate fencing and perimeter control to comply with company, state, and federal regulations.
- Identifies security risks and develops remediation plans for controlling inventory and unauthorized entry.
- Develop programs that educate and create awareness of shrink and security controls.
- Develop short and long-term supply chain asset protection strategies and implements initiatives that provide a safe working environment and protects Company assets from theft and losses.
- Maintains compliance with all FDA, DEA, and Customs/Homeland Security recommendations and requirements.
- Manages and/or conducts audits at all DC's.
- Develops and implements comprehensive security plans during periods of labor disputes, civil unrest, emergency response, and weather-related incidents.
- Prepares, manages and is responsible for the annual asset protection budget for appropriate distribution center(s).
- Drive operational programs and system enhancements (QA, Inbound/Outbound, Data and Reporting Buildouts, etc.).
- Responsible for protecting sensitive customer, associate and company information by maintaining an understanding of company information security practices and controls; adhering to information security policies; ensuring the proper use of sensitive information; ensuring that vendors for whom the incumbent is responsible adhere to company policies; and reporting policy violations or information security breaches.
Data & Analysis Reporting:
- Analyze operational, safety and loss data to identify trends, root causes and areas for improvement.
- Make informed decisions and strategic recommendations based on data insights to reduce risk and enhance operations
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations and compliance audits
- Report key metrics and trends to leadership and recommend strategic improvements
Investigations and Legal Proceedings:
- Manages, coordinates, and conducts all asset protection investigations within the scope of responsibility including, but not limited to theft, burglary, threats, violence, sexual harassment, EEOC violations, and Wage and Hour issues, while working closely with and reporting investigation findings to Labor Relations, Human Resources, Legal, and Site/Regional Leadership.
- Serve as primary liaison with the following: Corporate Counsel, Labor Relations/Human Resources, Government Agencies, Operations Personnel, Law Enforcement Agencies, Community Groups, Outside Agencies, and Judicial Agencies.
- Provides expert testimony in designated civil or criminal litigation; Involved in grievance process for union associates.
Safety:
- Ensures facility compliance regarding fire and safety standards established by the safety department and local regulations.
- Assists the safety department in the implementation of programs designed to create a safe work environment.
- Assist in accident investigations, as necessary.
- Maintains a close working relationship with the safety department.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Wicklander-Zulawski or Reed training practices.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, investigative techniques and loss prevention technologies
- Knowledge of city, county, and state penal codes, particularly those laws related, but not limited to security protocols, theft, arrest, investigation procedures, courtroom demeanor, etc.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)

- Responds to emergency calls during weekends and off-duty periods
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties. Onsite requirement, no hybrid.
- Ability to work in a –5 degree to 90-degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks, indoor/outdoor, etc.).
- On call availability for emergencies and critical incidents
- Minimal Travel (5%)
