JOB DESCRIPTION:
Desert Mountain (offsite warehouse) Quality Supervisor – Day Shift – Casa Grande, AZ – Weekends as needed
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operation of the Environmental Monitoring Program, including swabs, and air samples; ensuring methods and procedures are appropriately followed; ensuring CAPA activities are followed through to completion; providing direction and technical expertise to personnel; and providing leadership during problem solving situations related to microbial issues. Responsible for the activities and resources of the Offsite Sanitation to ensure support is provided to meet goals. Leads the team of Sanitation Specialists who perform the cleaning processes. This position works out of our Offsite Warehouse – Desert Mountain in Casa Grande, Arizona

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
What You’ll Work On
- Responsible for the overall results for a single shift of Sanitation and Environmental monitoring. Coordinate activities for the team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics including those in EHS, Quality, Finance, Productivity and People.
- Lead to triage any event related to sanitation intervention (I.e., Leak).
- Assures compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, safety and human resources for all reporting departments.
- Coaches, develops, and mentors employees in areas of responsibility. Responsible for recruitment, selection, development and retention of employees. Conducts performance reviews; develops growth plans; interprets, implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs. Assigns projects/tasks to direct staff.
- Develops and administers a technically sound Environmental Monitoring program, updating as appropriate.
- Leads problem solving efforts related to microbial issues.
- Interfaces with Division and Corporate QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Purchasing to ensure timely completion of project activities.
- Author work order as required for maintenance support and addressing sanitation related equipment needs.
- Manage budget accountability for Headcount, Overtime, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for direct expenses, headcount, overtime (OT), Material Usage Variance (MUV) and Scrap and Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Shift:
Day Shift – 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday – Friday – Weekends as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food technology, engineering or 2+ years of experience in a regulated industry, with preference being for food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Previous project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Food Science or Microbiology (preferred but not required)
- Two years experience in Microbiology testing methods and techniques plus two years Supervisory experience (preferred).
