What’s the role?
At Etsy, we’re building a future that reimagines commerce in ways that are more personal, relevant, and human. As the Senior Category Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting and growing a category that inspires millions of buyers and supports the success of small businesses around the world. Join our growing team within the Marketing Org, where your contributions will make a big impact and positive difference in real people's lives.
You’ll own the strategy, planning, and execution for a high-potential product category on Etsy. This role is both strategic and hands-on—equal parts market analyst, merchant, and cross-functional collaborator. You’ll develop a deep understanding of what makes your category thrive and partner across Etsy to build programs that drive growth, deepen buyer engagement, and reinforce Etsy’s unique value proposition.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, Scaled Merchandising Content. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered. Learn more details about our work modes and workplace safety policies here.

Conduct and continuously refine target customer and competitive analyses to advise strategy.
Identify and prioritize opportunities to accelerate GMS growth and increase category share.

Collaborate with Product to identify and expand “human qualitative review” initiatives that unlock inventory attributes and support category growth.
Measure and evaluate the impact of your initiatives; experiment with incremental tactics, refine approaches based on findings, and continuously shift focus to improve scaled impact to marketing and on-site channels.
Partner with the Brand Strategy team to define clear, compelling positioning for your category that differentiates Etsy and advises annual buyer programming—across flagship campaigns to long-tail evergreen moments.
