Amazon is looking for an energetic Services Chief Technician for the Generator Service Team. The Services Chief Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. The person in this role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures. In addition to the technical aspect of the role, the Services Chief Technician is also responsible for administrative tasks, training of technicians, and on-call support.
The Services Chief Technician is both the technical expert and primary field support contact to the generator technicians, and is therefore responsible for continually communicating with the technicians and their manager to provide updates and technical support.
Key job responsibilities
•Act as an ambassador for safety within the team to promote a strong safety culture
•Managing MCMs and auditing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
•Preventive Maintenance coordination and planning
•Ensure quality service and improve customer obsession through training and audits
•Coordinate quick response to troubleshoot and repair generator failures
•Manage and develop procedure for large repairs and work with management to schedule
•Inspect and coordinate as-found conditions of new equipment prior to system turnover
•Provide technical and logistics support to managers during planned and unplanned outages, large scale events, and extreme weather events
•Work with field and design engineering staff, the engineering operations team, and GST Technical Advisor (TA) to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
•Train and mentor generator technicians, act as a first line Technical Advisor (TA) for technicians
•Develop and maintain earns trust through strong working relationships with multiple teams and vendors
•Support hiring process for GST through hire and develop the best
•On-Call Support
