Prime Air is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Flight Operations Instructor, a key position within our innovative Commercial Operations Team. This role is essential for maintaining the highest levels of efficiency and operational excellence in training delivery. The Flight Operations Instructor plays a crucial role in developing and delivering tailored training programs to site operations personnel. Beyond training delivery, this individual is entrusted with the responsibility of being an educator and mentor, guiding crew members and site personnel through the rigorous process of being safe and proficient Prime Air crew.
Key job responsibilities
• Conduct ground/flight training sessions in both aircraft and simulators, maintaining the highest standards of service and operational excellence.
• Instruct students on ground school curricula and other topics.
• Develop individualized training solutions based on student needs.
• Prepare students and crew for written, oral and practical flight exams.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students and crew improve their knowledge and skills.
• Ensure student adherence to safety procedures during flight and ground operations.
• Conduct Line Observations and proficiency checks for certificated crew.
• Assist in development and updating of training materials and curricula.
• Stay current with Flight Monitor, Automated Vehicle Assistant, Repair Tech and Flight Operations Coordinator roles and best practices.
This role requires the ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs., stand / walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
This role requires the ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This role may require travel, up to 50% of the time.
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
This position may subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing if conducting safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA. Federal law also requires Amazon to determine an applicant's DOT drug and/or alcohol testing history prior to hiring him/her into a position that would require them to conduct safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA.
A day in the life
As a Flight Operations Instructor, you will conduct ground and flight training activities for recurrent and on-demand training. You will rotate through all crewed positions to evaluate standard operating procedures and develop best practices. Drive operational and training excellence through example.
