Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Landscape Architect to join its design team in Seattle, WA.
As a Data Center Landscape Architect at AWS, you will lead landscape design and innovation for Amazon Data Centers. You will provide technical guidance to project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders on landscape, earthworks, stormwater and natural drainage design approaches in coordination with civil engineering and architecture stakeholders. You will need to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners and lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency across our data center campuses. Successful candidates will be able to efficiently and effectively:
• Develop program vision, goals and tenets that weave landscape architecture into the fundamental/core design values of Data Center design.
• Communicate program values across Data Center design, including leadership teams.
• Work with stakeholder groups in and outside of the design group to innovate programs that expand collaboration with jurisdictions, promote sustainable design solutions and identify design opportunities that bring human scale design to data center campuses. Such stakeholder groups include, but are not limited to our Real Estate, Economic Development, Data Center Health and Safety, and Sustainability teams.
• Further the efforts of our civil engineers to integrate habitat, natural drainage approaches, create amenity spaces and enhance sensitive buffers across our Data Center campuses.
You will be part of a highly creative and efficient design team comprised of Architects, Engineers, and Designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo. As a subject matter expert, you will have a direct impact on the design of prototypical Data Center sites, provide technical design guidance and vendor oversight, solve large-scale implementation issues, and build a strong understanding of site design and program requirements.
