Southeast Gas has an immediate opening for a Gas Controller at its Andalusia Office.
Responsibilities for the job include:
· Monitoring and controlling natural gas flow and pressures throughout the entire Southeast Gas system
· Maintaining system pressures below MAOP limits
· Monitoring and responding to SCADA alarms and after-hours calls
· Performing demand calculations and dispatching service personnel
· Administering curtailments, maintaining purchase and billing records
· Preparing regulatory reports and ensuring compliance with the Emergency Procedure Plan
· Documenting system operations and participating in shift change briefings
Requirements for the job include:
· 1–4 years of technical experience in the natural gas industry or a related field (preferred)
· High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred
· Strong computer and Excel spreadsheet skills; proficiency with office equipment
· Ability to calculate and monitor gas flow
· Valid Alabama Driver’s License
· Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving ability
· Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Ability to sit for extended periods, respond quickly to emergencies, and adapt to changing conditions
