Position Responsibilities:
Shape, execute, and track strategies to expand Data Center portfolio and related infrastructure. Participate in developing and implementing scalable schedule control process and mechanism to support AWS Infrastructure teams in the development of the real estate portfolio. Maintain strong partnerships with regional teams, internal cross platform functions and business stakeholders to deliver capacity goals. Develop comprehensive schedule program from due diligence to zoning, design, permitting, and construction of the assigned AWS data centers including schedule contingency management, work breakdown structure, assumptions and construction sequencing, major milestones and critical path, calendars, weather, resources, equipment, long lead procurement items, and lists of activities. Develop strategic plans to ensure project milestones are met and baselines are trackable. Develop mechanisms to ensure that appropriate planning and compatibility of scheduling techniques and systems are implemented by developers to meet the projects’ milestones. Review planning and scheduling documentation, and identify ambiguities, risks and key issues, including schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity duration of projects, and recommend recovery options. Accumulate and analyze historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting. Review the processes and procedures on a regular basis to ensure that they meet the business needs.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept three years of experience in schedule management, project control, construction management, or a related occupation as equivalent to the bachelor's degree and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skills: (1) Experience in project controls and formulating construction programs both on-site and in pre-construction environments including schedule management, schedule change management, schedule contingency management, schedule risk management, and schedule progress statuses and reporting; (2) Using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software, Microsoft Project, and full Microsoft Office suite; (3) Tracking planned schedule progress of owner and contractor work; and (4) Understanding and negotiating commercial contracts. Up to 25% domestic travel to perform role responsibilities may be required.
