Abbott Lingo
Health and digital technology have united into a powerhouse force, igniting a fundamental shift in how people manage their health. Supporting this movement is Abbott's portfolio of biowearable technologies, including their leading FreeStyle Libre system for continuous glucose monitoring.
In January 2022, Abbott introduced Lingo, a biosensing technology that helps consumers better understand their general health to take action. Having operated like a startup within Abbott, Lingo extends the Abbott sensing technology platform, allowing continuous glucose monitoring with a small biosensor patch on the back of the upper arm. With an accompanying app, Lingo aims to become a true consumer brand that differentiates with its ability to leverage Abbott relationships in the medical industry and expand glucose monitoring to individuals looking to manage weight, improve sleep, boost energy, and enhance cognitive function.
The Lingo Count system offers personalized coaching and guided health suggestions such to reduce glucose spikes, retrain your metabolism, and optimize long-term well-being. Lingo tracks key signals in the body such as glucose, ketones, and lactate and Abbott is designing other features like a ketone biowearable to provide insights on dieting and weight loss, and a lactate biowearable to monitor lactate build-up during exercise, which can be an indicator of athletic performance.
