Position OverviewAs a Web Content Coordinator, you are a technical support for Antioch's internal and external websites and content management system. You will be responsible for completing help desk tickets and other web requests, and the maintenance and hygiene of the CMS. You will be a primary resource reliable for top-tier web pages, content publishing, and assisting stakeholders with content updates and strategy, including updating program and department information and faculty directory profiles.
In this role, you will collaborate to implement structural/technical edits and publish content using best practices (meeting minimum ADA compliance/WCAG 2.1 AA standards, adhering to clean coding, clear naming conventions, and following brand guidelines). Your work also includes providing exemplary customer service and completing tasks requested by email, phone, or helpdesk ticket. In conjunction with the marketing team, you will also participate in various web and content projects as needed.
This position is remote and will require reliable, high-speed internet access and a quiet workspace; the typical work week is Monday through Friday, at no more than 29 hours per week. A formal work schedule will be established in consultation with the supervisor.
Essential Job FunctionsWebsite Content 75% • Working collaboratively and providing excellent customer service and thoughtful communication
to stakeholders requesting support
• Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources via ticketing system or project
management software; properly escalate unresolved issues; follow up, provide feedback, and see
problems through to resolution
• Review proposed content revisions for accuracy, suggest revisions, and collaborate on the
creation of user-focused content to ensure they are aesthetically pleasing, within brand, work in a
variety of browsers, and meet accessibility standards
• Complete approved content changes, new page requests, etc. as assigned
• Research best practices for new content, as well as for optimizations for current content
• Maintain web posting best practices to be shared with all Antioch.edu web content editors
• Implement content accessibility fixes and/or advise other content editors to do so
CMS Maintenance 15%• Help to manage the organization, health, and updates of the WordPress CMS and plug-ins
• Regularly scan sites, document bugs, and correct new issues
• Identify opportunities to improve our site's code, using accessibility, site speed, and other review tools
Other 10%• Work to improve overall site usability in collaboration with Director of Digital Strategy
• Recommended procedure modifications or improvements; improve documentation of processes and systems
• Pursue self-education and development to enhance WordPress skills and abilities, and to gain knowledge related to website accessibility best practices
• Stay informed about industry trends in web design, user experience, and content development and distribution • Other projects/items as needed
Minimum Requirements• Bachelor's Degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
• At least two (2) years of relevant work experience
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or for-profit social enterprise preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; demonstrate strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and a flexible, problem-solving approach when faced with ambiguity
• Able to learn new software and willing to adapt to a dynamic environment
• Able to work professionally and build trust at all levels of the organization
• Experience with Wordpress and familiarity with accessible web design best practices
• Basic understanding of HTML and best practices for web design
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Hangouts)
• Experience working with or overseeing content on a large-scale site, or multiple sites, with numerous editors and content owners preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to write SEO-driven short-form content, including a basic understanding of keyword research
• Knowledge of higher education preferred, or an industry with diverse stakeholders, complicated regulations and a wide range of products and audiences.
Hours of Employment This is a full-time position serving a national university. A work schedule will be established in consultation with the supervisor. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week.

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The individual must regularly lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires daily use of computer and other standard office equipment.
