Job Description
The Program Manager, Clinical Research reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Program Manager, Clinical Researches responsible for the comprehensive management of activities in Clinical Research ensuring compliance with external regulatory agencies, funding agencies and internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Within assigned service line, directs and oversees the organization and execution of research protocols with the proper allocation of resources and adherence to Good Clinical Practice and research protocol requirements.
- Oversees the financial management of research activities including, but not limited to, assisting in development of overall study budgets with the Office of Research and serving as the point of contact for the Office of Research for service line related research billing processes, development of the annual capital and operating budgets for research and monitoring service line adherence to set budgets as well as research staff productivity.
- Oversees and manages the development of service line research training materials and education of research personnel, providers and staff in study execution and management.
- Serves as the primary contact and lead liaison for service line investigators, external sponsors, contract research organizations, external auditors and the IRB.
- Assists in development of and responsible for service line oversight of research policy and procedures as well as quality control and assurance initiatives.
- Manages quality performance improvement initiatives for research within assigned service line.
- Directs and provides administrative supervision of department clinical trial coordinators and research support staff.
- Manages the Human Resource activities of the research service line including orientation, ongoing training and performance evaluations of research support staff.
- Collaborates with the Office of Research, service line leaders and investigators to identify and/or develop research opportunities and provides direction on initiating new research within the service line.
- Assists service line investigators with developing and submitting research proposals, where applicable.
- Assists with development of recruitment materials and marketing strategies for research initiatives within assigned service line.
- Conducts formal meetings with service line administrators, investigators and research staff, as applicable, to ensure open communication and ongoing dialogue.
- Collaborates with service line administrators and medical directors to identify key opportunities for research and ensures research service line direction is in step with the overall service line business plans.
- Continually seeks out and obtains research management learning opportunities.
- Maintains an accurate and expanding knowledge of GCP, federal regulations and overall research administration.
- Performs all other functions as related to this job and assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or in lieu of degree, 4 additional years of related experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a related healthcare, academic leadership, or project management position
- Successfully managed people, projects, and/or grants in an academic setting
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills, excellent oral and communication skills, demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization
Preferred:
- Master’s degree preferred (required in place of work experience).
