Job Description
The Program Manager - Primary Care Service Line reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Program Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of strategic and operational projects with regards to Northwestern Medical Group and Northwestern Medicine. The Program Manager will develop project work plans and performance metrics, monitor work plans and metrics to assure activities are executed on-time and on-budget, coordinate the internal and external resources to complete activities as assigned using established Process Improvement and Project Management Methodologies. The Program Manager will effectively communicate at all levels of Management and will work closely with managers, directors and clinicians to develop work plans, metrics, resources and implementation support to achieve the NMG’s strategic goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of strategic initiatives including annual goal development and goal portfolio management
- Become in-house DMAIC process improvement leader
- Represent senior management with regards to all NMG initiatives.
- Assist in development of annual goals and objectives
- Assist in review of long range plans. Ensure integration of campus, IT and other plans with the NMG Long Range Financial Plan
- Research and develop internal and external communications including presentations, speaking points, correspondence and other written materials.
- Provide support to projects as assigned in support of senior management and business processes
- Develop and coordinate agendas, presentations and written materials for senior management and other NMG/NMHC management meetings.
- Lead cross-organizational projects to address issues and opportunities in a creative, effective and strategic manner
- Support key division management functions such as annual budgets, human resource initiatives and operations
- Organize and actively participate in planning other senior management functions.
- Provide proactive, clear, concise and timely Communications regarding project status and overall performance reporting among team members, NMG Executives (project sponsors) and vendor partners; Facilitate continuous exchange of ideas, information and project developments.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining productive and cordial relationships with clients and team members, serving as a link between multiple parties and entities. Must be able to effectively manage project risks, issues and problems that arise within the project and recommend mitigation strategies, as needed, to achieve the desired results.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of Operations and Project Goals: Recommends solutions that add value, strengthen project or operational outcomes, exhibits and understanding of Sponsor or user needs.
- Achieves Results: Accountable for delivering projects on-time and on-budget including successful execution/ activation, closeout and stabilization that meet stated Sponsor and stakeholder outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications or related field.
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills.
- Excellent oral and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.
- Minimum 5-8 years project or program management related experience.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree, MBA or MHA preferred, or Professional Certification in area of expertise
