Our location inPlano, TXcurrently has an opportunity for aPatient Therapy AccessSpecialist(PTA).This isan inoffice 5 days a week position.Preferredhours8am to 5pm.As a PTA Specialist youare responsible forfacilitatingandassistingAbbott patients with the pre-certification, pre-determinationand authorization process necessary as a prerequisite to perform various procedures or forms of therapy based on physician recommendation.
General knowledge of private insurance, Worker’s Compensation and Medicare guidelinespertaining toProspective and RetrospectiveUtilization Review.
Some experience in medicaldeviceor DME Billinga plus.
Proficient withMicrosoft Office(Word &Excel specifically).
Some knowledge of currentCPT codesand familiarity withICD-10CM(diagnosis coding).
Ability to accurately meet required time frames/deadlines.
Ability to work as a team player and share workloads with other team members.
Excellentcommunication skills; verbal and written.
Previous experience inpublic speakingor presenting to small groups.
Attention to detail.
Ability to travel 5% of the time.
Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.,,
