Our industry-leading sales team partners with State, Local and Education (SLED) organizations to deliver industry leading cloud security solutions. We work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify innovative new features and products in the marketplace and then implement, support and deliver these mission-critical solutions to our customers.
Partner with the best
Working with State & Local Governments and Education customers across the US west, you'll play a critical role in their Cloud strategy though Application and API security and Zero Trust solutions. Territory includes State & Local government agencies, Higher Education and K-12 plus Special Districts across multiple states.
As a Senior Security Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Developing strategic sales plans to maximize opportunities through existing account and new accounts
- Utilizing marketing resources and industry knowledge to create and manage a high-volume sales pipeline ensuring forecast accuracy
- Securing new and renewals contracts to maximize adoption of Akamai technology and customer satisfaction
- Partnering with sales engineers, influencers and subject matter experts to ensure consultative engagement with prospects and customers
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors' degree
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the Cyber Security Ecosystems, Cloud Security and Zero Trust
- Demonstrate successful sales experience in system, solution or channel sales within the SLED environment
- Have previous experience selling IT solutions to California State & Local governments and Education
- Have previous experience selling IT solutions to the Department of Homeland Security
- Display an ethical approach to sales, show integrity, personal dedication and be able to uphold Akamai values
