Brief Job Overview/Summary
The School of Education at Stockton University in Galloway, NJ is seeking to fill a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Education within the Master of Arts in Education (MAED) program. This position will start September 1, 2026.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- An assistant professor to teach graduate courses in the MAED program, as well as in the General Studies curriculum
- Candidate has the opportunity to teach k-12 content, pedagogy, educational leadership, or literacy courses
- Serve as an advisor for students in the School of Education
- Engage in appropriate scholarship including research, manuscript publications, and reputable presentations in the field of education
- Provide service to the University, community, and field of education
- Support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in designing instruction and teaching in multiple formats (including in-person, online, and hybrid)
- Experience with program accreditation
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Leadership or Literacy from an accredited institution of higher education
- Teaching experience in higher education
- At least three years of public school teaching experience in grades k-12
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research agenda within the field of k-12 education demonstrates strong research, publication, and presentation record
- Demonstrate strong curriculum and teaching content knowledge, educational theory, evidence-based practices, or educational leadership that supports learner variability
- Demonstrate ability in teaching with culturally responsive, student-centered, and inclusive pedagogies
- Demonstrate evidence of teaching graduate courses in curriculum and teaching, educational leadership, or literacy
- Demonstrate evidence of using innovative educational technologies in pedagogical practice
