Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsible to retrieve, research and organize financial data into financial reports; be able set up and organize spreadsheets and databases; recognize financial trends and drivers; determine if analysis is reasonable and be able to correct issues if not; meet deadlines, schedule meetings, set priorities, coordinate simultaneously occurring projects; communicate effectively both written and oral formats; establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and consultancies; understands complex financial concepts and accounting rules; able to interpret and explain these concepts; able to critical think critically, even in high-stress situations and still make timely decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Support monthly review and analysis of operational performance relative to NM Medical Group financial and productivity goals.
- Monitor budget performance by reviewing and analyzing actual expenditures and budget variances.
- Prepare financial reports and interpret financial data to inform decision making.
- Support coordination across financial systems to ensure consistency across multiple platforms and process owners.
- Support finance and operational leadership during the annual budget planning process, helping to create accurate, realistic and optimized fiscal year budgets.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision making related to physician, advanced practice provider and staff requests.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Three or more years of financial analysis experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Master’s degree in a relevant analytical field
- Five years of accounting/finance experience
- Previous healthcare experience
