What You’ll Do
This dynamic, fast paced role spans the entire deal lifecycle—from initial quote through signed contract and ongoing compliance. You will partner with US Core Diagnostics customers to understand their needs and translate them into financial solutions that align with market conditions, customer expectations, and Abbott’s profitability goals. You will develop pricing strategies, build corresponding P&L models, and present winning recommendations to US leadership and Customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with Commercial Sales, Finance, Commercial Operations, Training, Bid Team and Contract & Pricing (C&P) teams to ensure pricing integrity and drive profitability improvements.
• Perform deal model scenarios to evaluate financial outcomes, assess risk, and guide pricing recommendations to commercial teams to improve win rates and drive profitable growth.
• Lead the Area DVP deal approval meeting in partnership with the Regional Commercial Team
• Draft customer contracts, negotiate key terms and conditions, and propose revisions that protect Abbott’s interests and minimize potential risk exposure.
• Review pricing outcomes to identify trends and assess impact on price integrity across region / US.
• Partner with the US Contracts & Pricing team to ensure new contracts are executed in accordance with contract requirements and guidelines.
• Monthly monitoring of contract compliance and coordinate follow up actions with commercial team and customers.
• Identify opportunities to improve gross margin and economic profitability, engaging the appropriate stakeholders (Customers, Finance, Commercial Operations) to execute improvements.
• Establish new product pricing schedules based on local market insights and requirements.
• Support the Managing Director with monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pricing or comparable field working with large data analysis, or profitability analysis.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting commercial organizations.
• Minimum of 6 years of total business experience.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize deliverables, manage competing deadlines, and adapt quickly to shifting commercial needs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pricing or a related analytical field, such as financial analysis, business analytics, large scale data analysis, or profitability analysis.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting commercial, sales, marketing, or cross functional business teams.
• Advanced proficiency in complex data analysis using Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow metrics.
• Demonstrated strength in strategic problem solving, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership, including Area Divisional Vice Presidents, Managing Director, Director of Strategic Pricing and our Customers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior level customer stakeholders—both verbally and in writing—to articulate Abbott’s value proposition.
• Process oriented mindset with experience using enterprise systems such as Power BI, Salesforce.com, and Apttus/CPQ solutions.
