Our Edge Platform team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating our global platform. We design, develop and deploy critical technologies including the hardware, software and network infrastructure that provide the technical underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. Our team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers.
Partner with the best
This position will support Edge Technology, Network Infrastructure, and Network Planning by designing business and technical solutions for Akamai's cloud computing platforms and for service provider partners who want to implement CDN solutions. Integrating Akamai's CDN technology into third party networks requires a creative and technical person who understands the business needs and the financial aspects of both Akamai and our partners.
As a Senior Network Architect, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting Business Development and Network Strategy on service provider partnerships.
- Supporting Network Strategy in negotiating transit, peering, and colocation deals for Akamai.
- Troubleshooting and enhancing the Akamai Mapping System.
- Performing Network Security Awareness and managing Akamai's Peering and Interconnection Strategy.
- Optimizing Performance and Cost working with Partners and Vendors.
- Training internal teams and creating technical documentation and being a technical escalation point for other departments.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or its equivalent
- Have deep experience with internet routing and peering, content Distribution Networks and global DNS system.
- Possess extensive knowledge of general Internet network operations on a global scale and network diagnostics tools
- Demonstrate experience in Router in a multinational backbone and in-depth knowledge of common routing protocols.
- Demonstrate experience in representing and participating in Internet networking and other conferences as required
- Have good contract negotiation or equivalent experience.
