Job Description
The Registered Radiologic Technologist IIreflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department to include exam and work rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Operates equipment for fixed diagnostic imaging, portables, C-arm, and fluoroscopy units. Can work independently to perform GI, Minor procedures, and surgical service exams.
- Positioning patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
- Captures and documents patients' histories within the Electronic Medical Record.
- Prepares and educates patients/family members about the imaging procedure.
- Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for contrast exams utilized for diagnostic images.
- Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination to patients and equipment.
- Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients. Practices ALARA while following all radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
- Assists and supervises student technologists during assignment to clinical rotation.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Radiology PACS and the hospital Electronic Medical Record.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department to include exam and work rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, evening shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with alternating weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree
- IEMA
- ARRT RT (R) or ARRT RT (R) eligible. If eligible certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- BLS
- Basic knowledge of computer software, hardware, and communication devices to perform tasks.
