Job Description
The Operations Coordinator Health Information Management reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Operations Coordinator Health Information Management coordinates a team effort to compile and maintain data for various functional areas within the HIM department at NM. This position monitors all functional area statistics and maintains the department’s dashboard, and assists in ensuring compliance in all areas in accordance with the Joint Commission (JC) and other State and Federal standards. Oversees the day-to-day staffing and work assignments within a work unit. This position also provides lead assistance to HIM Management with related projects and HIM function coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Responds to NMHC physicians, clinicians, support staff, patient issues and concerns relating to the use of systems and the dissemination of clinical results;
- Provides system support to ancillary systems;
- Coordinates the implementation of department specific projects; leads system testing and staff training efforts;
- Provides an ongoing review of changes made by various regulatory organizations and develops procedures and guidelines to maintain compliance with all standards. Compiles productivity and quality statistics for all areas within the HIM department, and reports the results to HIM Management;
- Provides day-to-day monitoring of staffing levels and work activity, and supports HIM management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree in related field.
- 3-5 years experience in HIM, healthcare compliance, or related field.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred:
- RHIT/RHIA credentialed
- Supervisory experience
