Job Description

The Finance Associate is responsible for clerical work and overall support for accounting, budgetary, and financial analysis activities for the hospitals within his/her assigned region. The associate supports the finance function of Northwestern Medicine by helping prepare journal entries, analyzing accounts, researching transactions, and special projects.

Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical work to maintain appropriate levels of support for department
- Assist with account journal entries, account reconciliations by compiling and analyzing account information, verifying the accuracy of general ledger accounts assigned to him/her
- Provide support and analysis related to operational budget and long-term financial projections
- Prepare work papers for applicable reviews and audits
- Answer questions and provide assistance to department managers
- Support the finance operation of Northwestern Medicine through special projects and analysis
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- High level of precision and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite
Preferred:
- Accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger
