What’s the role?
The Trust Experience Product Management team’s mission is to provide transparent, seamless and deeply human experiences for buyers and sellers during enforcement. We believe that marketplace integrity is about building an empathetic ecosystem where users understand the rules, have a voice when they disagree, and trust their accounts are protected, all while meeting global regulations and privacy standards.
As Senior Manager of Product Management for Trust Experience you will define and drive Etsy’s long-term product strategy to strengthen marketplace integrity and member safety, leading multiple teams that build systems to protect our users.
The Path to Remediation: You’ll partner with senior leaders across Trust and Safety, Risk and Fraud Engineering, Legal, Operations and other Product teams to ensure that when we get it wrong, we give our users a path to remediation and when we get it right, users understand why.
Account Integrity: You’ll define a strategic roadmap to improve our account identity understanding of buyers and sellers and to ensure their accounts are protected, yet easily recoverable for legitimate users.
Nuanced enforcements and incentives: You will drive innovation on enforcement actions that signal trustworthiness and provide incentives for sellers and buyers to course correct their behavior.
Privacy and Regulations: You will partner with Legal teams to translate global regulations and privacy into intuitive user experiences that are easy to navigate.
You will own and develop a product strategy that strikes the right balance between legal & policy requirements, efficiency that scales with the growth and complexity of our marketplace, and an excellent user experience for our members.
We are looking for a strategic and visionary leader to guide a team of product managers, fostering collaboration and a culture of accountability, innovation, and empathy across Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, and Operations. You are a resilient self-starter who thrives in driving structure in ambiguous spaces, working in fast paced environments and using strong strategic and critical thinking skills to define solutions to new problem sets.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of Customer Operations Product. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. The Trust Experience Initiative provides the essential balance to detection systems, ensuring buyers and sellers have a fair treatment, an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, clear paths to appeal and continue growing at Etsy.
This team has a close partnership with Privacy and Legal stakeholders to build product experiences that meet global regulations while remaining on brand for Etsy.
This team works closely with the Detection and Enforcement Initiative and Customer Support Initiative, Engineering, Ops, Analyst and Design teams.
Your team will include 3 product managers.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Lead all aspects of the team’s strategy, prioritization, and delivery through continuous iteration, analysis, and experimentation.
Work closely and collaboratively with lead across product, ops, analytics and engineering to build products that are effective and scalable. This includes working with leadership across other Product Groups.
Regularly present to company executives on roadmap progress, strategy and prioritization.
Develop strategies to preserve a positive experience for well-intentioned members who make mistakes.
Drive a shared model on account identity across Etsy, prioritizing foundational capabilities to improve recovery loops.
Lead 3 PMs as they drive their squads’ execution. The product and engineering team is located in the US and Ireland.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading product managers.
Experience in Trust & Safety, Risk, Fraud Detection, or Marketplace Integrity domains.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex product initiatives, including ones building user experiences.
Inspiring, engaging and clear communicator.
You have a strong belief in Etsy’s vision, mission and values.
