Job Description
The Program Director reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
- The Program Director will lead planning and implementation activities for Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. This will include managing a portfolio of projects of strategic and operational importance to the organization. The Program Director will develop project work plans and performance metrics, monitor work plans and metrics to assure activities are executed on-time and on-budget, coordinate the internal and external resources to complete activities as assigned using established Process Improvement and Project Management Methodologies. The Program Director will effectively communicate at all levels of Management and will work closely with managers, directors and analysts to develop work plans, metrics and resources to achieve the department’s strategic goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Governance
- Lead strategy and operations for the BCVI Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in partnership with the Medical Director and Data Science/Engineering Lead at NM
- Establish and maintain a standard framework for evaluating and prioritizing AI projects and initiatives
- Maintain a comprehensive portfolio and roadmap of research and AI projects, including associated metrics and outcomes
- Secure necessary funding and resources to implement initiatives and solutions
- Partnerships & Collaboration
- Partner with clinical and administrative leadership to identify and prioritize AI/ML/NLP use cases that drive automation, discovery, operational efficiency, and improved patient care
- Serve as BCVI liaison to the Analytics team to review, prioritize, and align incoming requests based on system impact
- Serve as BCVI liaison with the IT team on the BCVI IT Subcommittee to review, prioritize, and align incoming requests based on system impact
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations team to identify and implement automation opportunities that improve efficiency and patient care
- Collaborate with BCVI Outcomes Director, BCVI CTU and NM Ventures to advance BCVI quality and research projects
- Solution Development & Execution
- Work with clinical, operational, and technical teams to design prototypes/proofs of concept and evaluate effectiveness of solutions
- Execute research and AI projects and initiatives by assessing legal, operational, and technical feasibility
- Marketing & Education
- Lead development and execution of marketing and educational strategies to promote the BCVI Center for AI, including overseeing continuing medical education (CME) events related to AI in cardiovascular medicine
- Outcomes research
- Oversee AI initiatives focusing on advancing research and publications; maintain comprehensive portfolio and associated metrics
- Ensure regulatory compliance for outcomes and AI projects (IRB, FDA, etc.)
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 8-10 years industry experience.
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills, excellent oral and communication skills, demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent capability to lead projects with budgets in excess of $1,000,000.
