The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. In this role, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers, analysts, and business partners to ensure reliable, high‑quality data delivery across the organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data engineering career who is eager to learn modern cloud technologies, big‑data architectures, and best‑in‑class data engineering practices.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and build solutions for analyzing large data sets, identifying patterns and relationships:
- Create, deploy, and optimize large-scale data pipelines.
- Rapidly develop new data and analytics prototypes.
- Explore and document data sources, ensuring data quality and availability.
- Manage data sources, organize data, and create data assets using identified open source or proprietary tools.
- Build approved processes with best practices for dependency management, error handling, and orchestration.
- Implement Lakehouse federation in Databricks for secure access to external systems.
- Define transition strategies for federated datasets into ingested Delta Lake formats for performance, reliability, or lineage requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to build data pipelines from structured and unstructured sources.
- Work on the newest tools and technologies to achieve results - Python, PySpark, and Databricks.
- Resolve technical issues related to assigned projects.
- Implement data quality checks, lineage capture, metrics/alerts, and SLA dashboards.
- Prepare clear documentation, runbooks, consumption contracts (SQL/API)onboarding guides, and operational handoffs.
- Support company initiatives and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain positive and cooperative communications with all stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
- 0-2 years or experience in IT related field
- Foundational knowledge of SQL. Basic programming experience with Python (PySpark a plus).
- Understanding of Relational Databases & ETL/ELT concepts.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
