Position Summary
We are seeking a collaborative and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Bedford, NH. In this role, you will support a variety of project and operational needs while partnering with a team of engineers and scientists. What You Will Do
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct line sizing, wall thickness, and flexibility/pipe stress calculations.
- Size process equipment (heat exchangers, boilers, pumps) and valve and mechanical components, including relief valves.
- Create piping design and equipment general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar tools.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) to support design documentation and procurement activities.
- Prepare technical specifications and design packages for equipment, materials, and system components.
- Utilize process simulation software to evaluate and optimize system performance.
- Develop comprehensive design reports, analyses, and technical assessments.
- Prepare plant documentation, including operating procedure, maintenance protocols, purging procedures, as-built drawings, and training materials.
- Conduct site visits to utility and industrial client facilities to review existing process piping and equipment layouts.
What We Are Looking For
- Solid understanding of AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with natural gas and liquefied natural gas is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
- Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Energy focus).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Requires sitting, walking and, at times, bending and prolonged standing.
- Must be able to visit project sites and climb ladders and stairs as required.
- The work requires both indoor and outdoor activity in temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme cold or hot and other weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment as required.
- Substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers is required.
- Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Format and Schedule
- Standard Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexibility in daily hours.
- Work Format: Onsite.
- Office Location: Bedford, NH.
- Travel Requirement: Local travel within New England.
Salary Information
- The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $84,000 per year.
- Specific compensation for the successful candidate will be based on factors such as experience, education, training, qualifications, and work location.
- Supplemental Pay: Annual bonus is based on individual and company performance.
