Job Description
Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist to join our dynamic team. Our MFM team practices full spectrum MFM in a community setting, supported by Northwestern Medicine Health Network, collaborating with OBGYN physicians across 6 Northwestern Medicine Hospitals with a combined total of 9,000 deliveries a year. There are outpatient facilities associated with each hospital that provide consultation and ultrasound.
Our AIUM accredited department uses our advanced technology platform to provide remote ultrasound and reads for OB and GYN scans across our health network. Our team also provides high-risk consultations in the inpatient setting at Central DuPage Hospital, working with OB Hospitalists. We provide telephone support and guidance to the Obstetricians at Delnor, Huntley, Kishwaukee, Lake Forest and Palos hospitals, and maternal transfers to Central DuPage Hospital as needed. There are opportunities, if desired, to participate in deliveries and procedures.
Our growing program includes nine MFM Physicians and two Advanced Practice Providers. These providers work within a team approach that involves the collaboration of a Geneticist, on site Genetic Counselor, Fetal Cardiologist, Fetal Echo certified Sonographers and experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine nurses. We have excellent working relationships with a number of adult medicine and surgery sub-specialists. Pediatric surgery, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Neurology and Neonatology consultations are provided by Pediatric specialists from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health. The 23-bed Level III NICU at NM Central DuPage is staffed 24/7 by Lurie Children’s Neonatologists.
The Chicago-land area has a number of desirable neighborhoods with excellent schools, park districts, and amenities.
Northwestern Medicine CDH and Northwestern Medicine Delnor maintain affiliations with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago for pediatric specialty care. Both hospitals have achieved Magnet® recognition for excellence in nursing services from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
