At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking a Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Solutions Architect to join our HCLS organization within AWS Industries. In this role, you will help shape and deliver our strategy for global HCLS customers and partners, partnering with some of the world's largest healthcare and life sciences companies to design cloud architectures that address their industry-specific business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
As a Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of helping customers succeed using AWS technologies — linking technology with measurable business value for healthcare and life sciences organizations. You will have technical depth, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the value of the AWS platform to Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Cloud Architects, Directors, VPs, and CXOs.
You will craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures, assist organizations in understanding best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and help migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Serverless and Container-based architectures, Analytics and Big Data, DevOps, and Security). In collaboration with account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem, you will formulate and execute strategies to build mind-share and broad use of AWS within enterprise customers.
Key job responsibilities
Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform for HCLS customers
In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a customer engagement strategy
Build prototypes, proofs of concept, and demonstration assets that showcase AWS capabilities — particularly in AI/ML, Generative AI, and data analytics — tailored to healthcare and life sciences use cases
Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies and cloud-native patterns, and translate that knowledge into actionable guidance and reference architectures for HCLS customers
Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community
Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and reference architectures
Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support
A day in the life
Your morning starts with a customer call — whiteboarding a cloud migration strategy for a global pharma company. Mid-morning, you're building a Generative AI prototype that shows how a life sciences customer could accelerate drug discovery. After lunch, you join an architecture review with the account team, then lead a hands-on workshop walking a hospital system through HIPAA-compliant deployments on AWS. Between meetings, you're sketching a reference architecture for a new ML pipeline, trading ideas with fellow SAs in Slack, and jotting down notes for a whitepaper. No two days look the same.
