The AWS Event Technology Team (ETT) is at the forefront of delivering exceptional event experiences for our customers. We design, build, and support a cutting-edge platform that empowers marketers to create and manage thousands of virtual and in-person events annually, from large-scale conferences like re:Invent to smaller events.
Join our Event Technology Mobile App team as a Software Development Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI-driven event experiences. You will spearhead the development and enhancement of our world-class personalization and AWS Events Mobile App, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for attendees worldwide. Collaborate closely with AWS global marketing stakeholders, providing innovative tools, governance, and operational support to drive AWS growth and elevate attendee experiences to new heights.
Key job responsibilities
As an SDE II, you will design, build, and operate a multi-agent conversational AI system powered by Amazon Bedrock that serves 500,000+ attendees across 45+ AWS events annually. You will own end-to-end feature delivery across the full stack — React Native mobile frontend, serverless backend services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), and LLM orchestration layer — with direct accountability for performance, reliability, and quality at scale. Your work includes architecting real-time streaming protocols for sub-second response delivery, building data-driven feedback systems that measure and improve AI response accuracy across specialized agent domains, and developing intelligent push notification infrastructure with context-aware delivery. You will define and instrument operational metrics to drive continuous model and system improvements, contribute to system design reviews for high-traffic scenarios (re:Invent scale: 50K+ concurrent users), and partner with product, design, and applied science teams to evaluate new LLM capabilities and agent orchestration patterns. You will mentor junior engineers and interns, raise the engineering bar through code reviews and documentation, and own operational excellence — writing runbooks, designing for graceful degradation, and maintaining high availability during peak event periods.
