Job Summary
Under general supervision, maintains assigned trucks, ships, and related equipment in accordance with operating specifications. Routinely welds, paints and refurbishes equipment. Conducts mechanical inspections. May use moderately complex diagnostic equipment. Maintains records. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Heavy Truck and Equipment Mechanic is responsible for annual Pennsylvania safety inspections, routine repair and maintenance on the entire fleet; fleet consists of small to large mobile machinery, light duty pickups and DOT regulated tractors and trailers. Candidate must possess effective diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, create dependable repair solutions, safely accomplish tasks, and work individually in the maintenance building and on site.
- Pennsylvania Safety Inspection CERTIFIED.
- Safely operate various equipment and vehicles as needed to complete tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance, and repairs in a timely manner.
- CDL-A Preferred.
- Observe, report, and repair overlooked damage.
- Diagnose issues brought in from the field.
- Make repair decisions based on the safety of the operators.
- Ability to enter work orders on tablet-based platform.
- Cost conscious decision making.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Adhere to Company safety rules and policies.
- Welding/Fabrication experience is a plus.
Education And Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or educational equivalent. 1 year experience. General knowledge of mechanical operating procedures and processes. Good analytical skills. Mechanic certification preferred.
