About
Hello, my name is Luke Goeltzer, I am 23 years old and I transferred to Northeastern Illinois University in January 2023 after graduating from Wilbur Wright College in December 2022. At Wright College, I received my Associate in Arts degree, completed my general education classes, and received a certificate for excellence in Computer Information Systems. I was a computer science major at Northeastern and my concentration was Information Technology (IT). I participated in the Eagle Hackfest Hackathon, where I collaborated with a team.
The most important factor that made me choose to pursue a degree in Computer Science is that it develops your problem-solving, critical thinking, and complex analytical skills. It challenges me everyday to think about real-life problems and how to solve them because it has always been vital for me to never give up and follow my dreams. I have had plenty of experience with the subject of computer science at both Wright College and NEIU. At Wright College, I had some experience with coding using both the Python and Java programming languages and I also used a little bit of the NetBeans software application in my last semester there. At NEIU, I had experience with using Intellij software for homework and coding projects. I also recently completed the Kaggle Generative AI 5-day Intensive course.
I bring skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, and enthusiasm for computer science. Skilled in typing, organization, Java, Python, and HTML. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from Northeastern Illinois University in May 2025.
My greatest qualities include that I am a happy person with a positive attitude, I have a very good memory, I am very punctual, I like to focus on precision and accuracy, I am easy to get along with and am very friendly and I am good with both working alone and working with groups.
