As a Sustaining Electrical Engineer you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to sustain and improve the design of critical satellite hardware. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
You will work within the RF Hardware Engineering team to debug failures at the CM and at Kuiper. This will be a hands-on position to support all design validation, manufacturing test and reliability aspects of design, development; including alternate source component selection and qualification. You will drive system validation activities for new products development, to implement design changes for sustaining products, to resolve technical issues for manufacturing process, and to perform failure analysis for Acceptance Test (ATP) failed units.
In this role, you will:
• Debug failing PCBAs in manufacturing and acceptance tests.
• Develop system test plans for design validation.
• Define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability.
• Monitor quality metrics from design validation manufacturing test, acceptance test (ATP), reliability, and field return data.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

The systems you will work on employ a mix of power, analog, digital, high speed, and circuitry. So, a wide breadth of knowledge in those areas is key to success in this role. You will drive system validation activities for new products development, to implement design changes for sustaining products, to resolve technical issues for manufacturing process, and to perform failure analysis for field returned products.
About the team
The RF Hardware and Systems team is full of talented engineers. They cover a wide range technical areas from power supplies, high speed digital, mixed signal, and RF. So members of this team need to be comfortable in multiple domains.
