Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Key job responsibilities
- Specify, design, implement, test, and operationally support high reliability software hosted on satellite for purposes of foundational command and data handling (i.e. command, telemetry, and file transfer)
- Develop embedded satellite software in Rust, C++, and/or other modern languages
- Develop ground side CICD and/or operational support software w/ Python and/or Typescript
- Work closely with other software and hardware teams to support on device integration testing

About the team
Our team tackles critical satellite functions, including command for satellite actuation, telemetry for satellite observability, and bi-directional file transfer as a foundation for many use cases. We are looking for an outstanding software engineer to participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations.
