As an Area Manager II of Central Flow, you will have the opportunity to manage and develop a team of flow leads who are tasked with the most analytical and impactful function of running Outbound Flow for Fulfillment Centers across Amazon. In the job you would be required to exercise superior analytical and problem solving skills as well as people management skills. You will be expected to work with the senior leadership of multiple Fulfillment Centers and set expectation on the support that central flow would provide and need from them. You would be responsible to work with cross functional teams in developing tools, standards and best practices and will be co-ordinate the efforts with multiple Fulfillment centers across Europe. You are expected to have a steep learning curve in learning flow related tools and become a subject matter expert in flow management.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead their respective department’s shift by managing 10-35 Flow Leads and supporting 10-35 Distribution/Fulfillment Centers.
• Drive network standards in relation to shift planning that has customer-facing impact and influences SVP-level goals of Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA), Glance View Speed (GVS) and Fulfillment Center cost objectives.
• Audit performance and improves processes as they are responsible for delivering results in key metrics that impact Amazon’s end-customer.
• Engage and develop their teams to work through ambiguous situations, remove barriers, and streamline processes that improve the team’s efficiency in completing critical tasks.
• Collaborate with Level 6 through Level 8 operations leaders to mitigate customer experience risk, as well as deep-dives barriers to customer promise in real-time.
• Communicate clearly and provides consistent, accurate documentation and/or direction as the primary escalation point for General Managers and Regional Directors.
• Develop working relationships with stakeholders, managers, and peers, recognizing discordant views and participates in constructive dialogue to resolve them.
• Responsible for developing, mentoring, and coaching their team as they lead their department and shift.
• Facilitate effective meetings and developmental conversations with their direct reports
• Participate in the bi-annual Talent Review process, manage Career Growth Actions through Rise, and performance manage through Amazon standard processes
• Drive the overall engagement and culture of their department.
• Identify process gaps, creates solutions, and drive adoption of process changes across teams within their program, including different shifts and cross-function stakeholders.
• Audit and ensure that all correction of error reports for customer facing units meet standards and continue to drive the business forward.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
