The Brand Experience and Excellence (BEE) organization creates, builds and leads innovation for Brand Owners in the Amazon store worldwide. An SDE in BEE delivers high and low-level architectural designs and implementations in both existing and net-new areas. They oversee implementations at the component level that can span multiple months and may support highly-visible initiatives. Their implementations must be logical, testable and maintainable. They draw upon experience to use good judgment to assess short-term vs. long-term solutions. SDEs are full-stack engineers capable of making technical and design trade-offs, as well as advocating for best practices across the team, especially in terms of OE improvements. They must also mentor other team members, especially when collaborating through code reviews, technical designs, and team meetings, and may lead more junior engineers through project delivery. SDE2s readily dive deep into new technologies and systems in order to deliver software.
