Come join our journey to reinvent Alexa Shopping experiences with Alexa+. Alexa Shopping team is looking to hire a Senior Applied Science Manager. You will define and implement science strategies to scale our architecture to launch new shopping features across all Alexa end points and expand to WW locales. You will lead teams comprised of applied scientists, data scientists, linguists and SDEs that are foundational to Alexa Shopping CX quality. You will have the opportunity to invent and apply state-of-the-art Gen AI and Agentic AI solutions, collaborate deeply with Alexa’s science teams to define and influence the architecture for the next iteration of Shopping CXs integrated with Alexa+ CXs. This role will require you to present regularly to senior leadership, providing opportunities to gain their unique insight, and advocate for science and engineering investments. This is a fun, high energy role that will provide opportunities for growth for even the most seasoned leader.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of applied, research and data scientists, language engineers and SDEs for building Alexa Shopping experiences
- Collaborate with Alexa and Shopping teams to define and implement the best science strategies to launch and improve Shopping experiences.
- Own top of the funnel quality Shopping CX quality metrics that are foundational to delivering a delightful Alexa Shopping CX to customers.
- Identify and prioritize research opportunities that have the potential to significantly impact CX and Developer experience.
- Rapidly experiment and drive productization to deliver customer impact
- Mentor and guide team members to achieve their career goals and objectives.
About the team
The Alexa Shopping team owns the Shopping CXs that customers experience on all Alexa devices (including devices with and without screens, Alexa App, Fire TV etc.). With Gen AI and LLMs we are are reinventing the product to be a more voice + touch friendly experience that helps customers across all product categories and the entire shopping lifecycle (upper funnel discovery, search, buy, reorder, track orders, post-purchase support etc.).
