Job Overview – As an Amazon Robotics Sensor Technology Leader, you will develop innovative hardware designs for our emerging robotic systems and improve existing hardware to optimize performance and enhance customer experience.
The ideal candidate has experience designing and analyzing camera systems, enjoys analytical problem solving, possesses practical knowledge of high volume manufacturing methods and is a role model for engineering best practices. This role will be a leader and expert the development of complex camera, compute and machine vision modules. This position reports directly to the Hardware Development Engineering Manager.
Key job responsibilities
The Hardware Development Engineer will be responsible for:
-Technically leading an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including requirements, specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing
-Supporting the architecture development and path to implementation for complex camera, compute or machine vision modules
-Collaborating with other cross-functional teams and customers on new product introduction or technology development.
-Working with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth product launch and sustaining
-Writing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
-Complete engineering analysis and cradle to grave ownership
-Design and support hardware solutions
-Develop requirements
-Developing engineering artifacts following hardware development best practices
-Provides expertise to crossfunctional team members and across the business in the area of sensing technologies
-Act as a trusted technical leader able to provide advisement to stakeholders
-Provides input for sensor strategy and roadmap
-Technical mentorship
