Project Kuiper is seeking a Production Supervisor to join the Solar Power Module and Solar Mechanical operations team to support production. This role will work closely with management to supervise a technician team that supports building and testing of many sub-assembly and up through the full assembly of the solar array. The individual will have strong leadership skills and be required to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment where communication and organization will be critical. They will develop training documents and standards and work closely with manufacturing engineering to ensure robust build instructions and operating procedures are created and followed, while also supporting new products and development as they push the bounds of satellite internet capabilities for our customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Build and test components and assemblies in development and production environments.
- Supervise a team of technicians focused on early production and scaling output.
- Support the training and development of the team's skillsets and talents.
- Work with management to plan and coordinate daily tasks for technicians and activities of all operations with an ability to adapt to changing schedules and other dynamic priorities.
- Work cross-functionally with management, facilities, and supply chain to maintain smooth and consistent operations in the Solar area.
- Ability to provide timely feedback on designs, processes, and custom equipment used in routine prototyping, fabrication, and characterization.
- Author, maintain, and train others to all relevant process documentation, including Assembly, Inspection, Testing/In-Process Characterization, and Packaging Procedures.
- Work with manufacturing engineering and quality to identify and resolve root causes to non-conformances.
- Review and approve rework to ensure accuracy and enforce traceability.
- Comply with all Company Policies including Health, Safety, and Environmental Regulations, Personal Protective Equipment Requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.

A day in the life
A Production Supervisor in this role will play a valuable part in ensuring hardware is ready to be integrated on a satellite. You will adjust the daily activities of your team to meet the daily, weekly, and monthly goals, specifically targeting the high-value gains to increase production rates, driving design for manufacturability improvements with data. You will work closely with other production supervisors, manufacturing and design engineers, supply chain, and quality to ensure assemblies can be built and tested safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality.

The team is dedicated to one of largest assemblies of the satellite, the solar array, including the building and testing of components, all the way up to the top level.
