The PR Manager, Foundational Services partners with AWS service, business, and marketing teams to develop and execute messaging, thought-leadership strategies and campaigns, and innovative communications tactics. The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into technology and is motivated by a dynamic, highly creative culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practices is welcome. The candidate must be comfortable working sensitive issues and communicating with the media on issues that can impact AWS’s reputation.
Key job responsibilities
• Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of PR strategy and programs to drive awareness for AWS’s foundational services
• Regularly interact with senior leadership to influence strategy and negotiate decisions in relation to service announcements and messaging
• Work cross-functionally with product marketing and product management teams to plan and execute PR campaigns
• Serve as a global liaison for international PR teams, helping to support international plans, service launches, and cross-functional PR campaigns
• Ensure factually accurate representation AWS services in technology and business press
• Manage sensitive reputational issues with internal stakeholders and member of the media
• Protect sensitive competitive, technical, and business confidential information
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key influencers—traditional and emerging— in technology trade and business press
• Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism
