Amazon Security's Healthcare Security organization is currently hiring for a Data Engineer II to architect and implement data solutions that power secure healthcare services. As part of the Healthcare Security Team, you'll drive data engineering initiatives that enable Amazon's expansion while ensuring adherence to global security and compliance standards.
Impact You'll Drive: As a Data Engineer, you will design and implement enterprise data architectures that support Amazon's healthcare compliance and security initiatives. You will build cloud-based data solutions and architect data pipelines that transform healthcare and compliance datasets into actionable insights, while building automated solutions for security reporting and compliance monitoring. You will lead technical discussions and mentor team members in data engineering practices.

A day in the life
As a Data Engineer in Amazon Healthcare Security, you'll start your day collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand security requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You might begin with a morning standup where you align with Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers on ongoing projects, then dive into designing new data pipelines using infrastructure as code.
Throughout your day, you'll leverage your expertise in SQL and distributed systems to build scalable solutions that enhance our healthcare security infrastructure. You could be fine-tuning a data model in the morning, participating in architecture review sessions at midday, and mentoring team members on best practices in the afternoon. You'll regularly engage with Product Managers to ensure our data solutions align with business objectives while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
Working in our fast-paced environment, you'll balance immediate project needs with long-term strategic initiatives.
