Amazon World Wide Grocery Store Tech (WWGST) Retail Infrastructure is looking for a passionate and innovative Program Manager to join our Hardware Deployment team. This team is responsible for leading complex and challenging projects that will deliver innovative technical solutions to our physical stores. We have an opportunity to revolutionize the brick and mortar grocery shopping experience at Amazon banner grocery stores and set new standards for accessing the highest quality organic and natural groceries across the US, Canada, and the UK.
As a Program Manager II, you will be a key member of tech leadership and will need to drive forward the technology across Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh to create a best in class grocery shopping experience.
We are looking for an individual with strong business and technical skills, great communication abilities, and a passion to implement new technologies to help our banners thrive at delivering the highest customer obsession.
In the PM role, you will be responsible for leading the physical deployment efforts for large projects that span multiple technology and operational teams and third-party OEM and Field Service partners. These projects will include initiatives such as rolling out new technology to existing stores and leading efforts to develop and implement creative solutions, leading POS/SCO image engineering as well as printer and service scale efforts.
Key job responsibilities
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of program management experience leading enterprise-level infrastructure projects
- 5+ years managing retail, Point of Sale (POS) , Audio/Visual, and Network related projects
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience managing third-party (3P) vendors including vendor selection and relationship management
- Experience working with legal and indirect procurement teams for defining and negotiating contract terms
- Experience creating and managing program budgets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
A day in the life
The primary focus of this role will be to partner with our Retail Technology teams to help them evaluate new technology, develop strategies, requirements, project plans, and lead the deployment of the new technology to our physical stores.
The successful candidate will have a passion for working with technology and operations teams as well as end-users to ensure the best experience for our business partners, in-store team members and customers.
