Job Description
The Technician III, Neuropsychology reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Technician III, Neuropsychology, administers, scores and interprets psychological and neuropsychological tests for patients in an accurate, valid, and standardized manner to aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow up of patients with various neurological health conditions. The Technician III, Neuropsychology assists in clinical supervision and training of Technician, Neuropsychology and practicum students. Clinical duties are supervised by a clinical neuropsychologist.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts clinical interviews and follow-up appointments to discuss testing results with patients and their families
- Selects appropriate tests and conducts comprehensive outpatient neuropsychological evaluations for a wide variety of referral questions and conditions including neurologic, neurodegenerative, transplant, neoplastic, cerebrovascular, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental syndromes
- Scores and analyzes neuropsychological testing results and prepares a comprehensive report of findings.
- Supervises doctoral students and neuropsychology technicians in the administration and scoring of neuropsychological tests, and preparing reports of results.
- Conducts bedside neuropsychological assessments of inpatients admitted for a variety of neurologic, neoplastic, cardiovascular, toxic/metabolic, psychiatric and developmental disorders, traumatic brain injuries and systemic conditions with mental status changes
- Conducts pre- and post-surgical neuropsychological assessments and participates in intraoperative cortical mapping during awake craniotomies
- May perform other duties as assigned.
