The Clinical Respiratory Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- The Clinical Respiratory Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and overseeing clinical practices within the department, working collaboratively with manager, staff, physicians, and other departments to maintain patient care excellence and compliance.
- Assists the Practice Administrator in administrative functions and assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Practice Administrator as delegated or in the case of absence. Acts as a mentor, facilitator, coach, and clinical/supervisory resource.
- Assists the Practice Manager in overseeing the outpatient Pulmonary Function Lab and clinical staff of the department.
- Uses knowledge and skills of respiratory care standards and emergency procedures to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Provides education and education materials to staff to maintain or advance current respiratory care standards and practice.
- Assist the department in accomplishing skill review assessment of therapist and certified medical assistants
- Assist the department in orientation of new employees.
- Maintains infection control techniques, while meeting facility standards at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- One of the following is required:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Registered Pulmonary Function Technician
- Certification in BLS and PALS
- Proficient in performing proficiency testing and comparison studies, able to read graphs and charts, and ability to multi-task different projects.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft word and all functions of Microsoft outlook e-mail
Preferred:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
