Job Summary: Perform transportation activities relating to both inbound/outbound routings for both domestic and international shipments. Principal Responsibilities: Responsible for analyzing, coordinating, and optimizing the flow of material shipments to company global locations and customers. Includes planning and executing the acquisition, distribution, and final disposal of resources, ensuring everything is in the right place at the right time. Improve efficiency, reduce overall costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Plan the best case, fastest, most efficient transport of product from our centers to end customer. Review and analyze our current and/or available routes and delivery lanes by carrier and consolidate freight for optimal use of available cube space on cargo containers, trucks, etc. Determine which company global locations are best to ship to in order to best service our customers, or determine that a 3PL warehouse in a strategic location would be better and more cost efficient to service remote customers. Collect data and generate reports to support continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate with sales, supply chain, and transportation teams to facilitate sales goal accomplishment and minimize inventory levels while providing world-class service to our customers. Planning and Scheduling - creating and implementing logistics plans and schedules to optimize inventory storage, transportation, and delivery of goods. Collaboration and Communication - Work with internal teams, external partners (vendors, carriers, etc.) and customers to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations. Process Improvement - Continuously evaluate logistics operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Data Analysis - Using data to track performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions about logistics strategies. Compliance - ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards related to logistics operations. Other duties as assigned. Errors may be difficult to detect and remedy and may require significant expenditure to resolve. Work Experience: Typically requires a minimum of eight years of related experience. Education and Certification(s): High School Diploma or equivalent Distinguishing Characteristics: Possession of basic understanding of transportation operations and world geography necessary to understand logistics events and create solutions. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics principles highly desired. Position may require travel.
