The AWS Launch Marketing team is looking for an experienced program manager to plan, execute, and deliver the day-to-day operations of the organization’s flagship AWS News Blog. This role is a key member of the team responsible for the timely publication of high-visibility blogs to promote top-tier AWS product launches.
Key job responsibilities
•Own and manage the workflow of News Blog articles from intake to publication, ensuring all content adheres to brand standards, program mission, and tenets
•Regularly audit production mechanisms for efficacy; identify and enact improvements
• Create and maintain SOPs, training materials as needed
• Manage the intake queue for AWS News Blog requests and ensure all necessary information is received in a timely manner
• Assign articles to designated writers based on areas of expertise and availability
• Enforce content reviews by stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of required feedback
• Manage vendor copyediting resource to ensure the highest quality of published content.
• Publish blog posts on a strict timeline dictated by the launch of new products, including during live launch calls
• Own and manage the mechanisms for the intake, production, and publication of a high volume (60+) of top-priority product launch blog posts for large AWS events
• Hold weekly News Blog writers meetings and weekly office hours
• Act as liaison between product marketing managers, technical program managers, service team members and AWS News Blog resources
• Update the AWS Blog home page with editorially curated posts
• Gather, analyze, and report on metrics for AWS News Blog program and AWS Blogs home page curated posts
A day in the life
The News Blog program manager reviews the News Blog production queue to ensure all articles are proceeding successfully and troubleshoots problems. They also review the intake queue and determine which new requests can be accommodated, and manage all requests in a timely manner. They publish new articles at the designated times, and they gather metrics, analyze and report on program performance for monthly business reviews. They also curate and help promote launch team content through newsletter, social media, and AWS blog home page placements.

The AWS Launch Marketing Team works with AWS product marketing leadership, product marketing managers, and service teams to understand the key features and benefits of new AWS products, solutions, and key messaging themes. We use our content-marketing expertise to convey this information to audiences through blogs, videos, livestreams, podcasts, email newsletters, and social media. While executing our work, we prioritize timeliness, accuracy, quality, data-driven decision-making, process efficiency, and cross-team collaboration.
