AWS seeks a Mechanical Engineer with experience in thermal design and mechanical integration for advanced computing systems. They will help architect, develop, and integrate scalable hardware solutions in the AWS technology ecosystem.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and validate thermal solutions for high-performance computing hardware
- Develop mechanical layouts for chassis and PCB integration
- Conduct thermal simulations and analyze results to optimize cooling performance
- Collaborate with electrical and FPGA engineers to ensure mechanical and thermal requirements are met
- Participate in design meetings to plan development and review peer designs
- Help identify new opportunities and technologies to improve thermal efficiency and mechanical design
- Support EMI compliance efforts through mechanical design
A day in the life
You will work on a cross-functional team of hardware and software developers, designing mechanical and thermal solutions for custom hardware. You will conduct thermal simulations, develop 3D models, and ensure designs meet performance requirements. You will oversee prototype development and testing, and debug issues related to mechanical and thermal aspects of the system. You will provide subject matter expertise in architectural discussions and strategic planning meetings.
