We are searching for a bar-raising Accounting Manager, who consistently exceeds expectations, thrives in a dynamic workplace, and can actively contribute to our talented team. The individual will support our core accounting operations and financial reporting over AWS Revenue, globally. This role will collaborate with business and finance partners within the AWS organization to support new initiatives and launches and ensure appropriate controllership of processes, from end-to-end. Key job responsibilities
• Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process
• Understanding accounting and financial principles and how to apply them.
• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
• Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
• Strong sense of ownership.
• Analysis of complex processes and systems data.
A day in the life
In this role, each day is a little different. With that said, a candidate on the AWS Revenue Accounting Team can expect a mix of the following in their day-to-day:
- Engaging with AWS business and finance partners to understand program launches and evolution of existing products
- Driving automation of existing tech debt, and inventing streamlined processes for new launches
- Assessing customer contracts for potential accounting implications
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries impacting month-end results
- Conducting analytical review of financial results and investigating variances
- Coaching team members on your respective responsibilities to expand the team's overall baseline knowledge.
About the team
The AWS Revenue Accounting Team is made of a group of individuals with varying backgrounds - some who have supported the space for the majority of their careers, while others who have come from public accounting or other industries.
