THE OPPORTUNITY
The primary function of this position is to coordinate departmental resources and training efforts for the assigned department to ensure that related job function documents are current and consistent with each other and accurately reflect the methods used to perform various functions by departmental employees. This includes planning, organizing, directing, occasionally conducting, and controlling the training activities for annual training requirements, technical on-the-job training, new employee orientation/ training, and other training as required or assigned by Training & Development or the department supported. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring job related information is consistent between work orders, job procedures, job aids, Columbus DC Control Procedures, and Job Safety Analysis documents.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Coordinate the following training: Safety, GMP, technical and procedural training on new equipment, business conditions, regulatory reform or updated processes/procedures
- Ensure there is consistency between the methods described in the Work Orders, Job Procedures, Columbus DC Control Procedures, and Job Safety Analysis.
- Manage the site’s Learning Management System (LMS) for assigned team members to include generating reports and maintaining the system in a compliance-ready state.
- Develop, update, and track on-the-job technical training for all new department personnel or those assuming new positions within the department.
- Monitor and track the department training activities of the area(s) supported.
- Maintain close liaison with the area they support as well as all other areas of the plant, to include peers or employees at the other sites.
- Write, issue and update job aids and other training documents
- Assist in the development and facilitation of departmental or site training
- Update curriculum or course materials
- Provide support to the Technical Trainers
- Develop improved training content and methodology
- Serve as a training resource in the department supported on projects and process/equipment implementation.
- Stay up to date with current training authoring software and delivery technology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/GED required
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing or production environment in a regulated industry
- 2+ years of hands-on training experience
- Strong experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Experience with Learning & Development systems, writing and editing SOP's
- Ability to work fully onsite in Columbus, OH
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Food Technology, Education and Development, or Human Resources strongly preferred
- Experience with MS Access
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing principles and techniques as well as various techniques for training both technical and non-technical subjects.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak in large group settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
