Engineering Supervisor (Project Execution)
Job Summary
The Engineering Supervisor of project execution is responsible for providing guidance for the teams of company and contract engineers executing distribution Grid projects across the state, including oversight of the change management process, scheduling, switching and operations, and the close out process. Additionally, this position will monitor project progress and budgets, with special attention given to areas identified as high-risk, conduct post project reviews, and share lessons learned.
Georgia Power’s Distribution Grid Investment Plan is a 15-year plan focused on improving overall system reliability, reducing O&M expenses, and increasing customer satisfaction. This position will provide oversight for hundreds of projects being executed over this timeframe (over $1B in investments), to accomplish our goal. Additionally, this role will serve as a leader during storm restoration efforts.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, with an advanced degree a plus.
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus (i.e. PE License, PMP Certification, etc.).
- Proven leadership abilities and demonstrated commitment to safety excellence.
- A minimum of 5 years of distribution experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of formal leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience leading contractors is a plus.
- Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is preferred.
- Experience with relevant systems is preferred (i.e. TCMS, ARCOS, JETS, CSS, ARMS, and DISTIEW).
- Proven record of dealing effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to internal and external stakeholders.
- Influencer and champion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, through words and actions.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize high profile opportunities and respond, as needed, without prompting.
Job Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to monitor project budgets and take appropriate actions to ensure that financial objectives are met.
- Oversee teams of company and contract engineers.
- Provide necessary oversight during engineering, construction, and close out phase, to optimize the financial and reliability impacts of Grid projects.
- Approve and manage project changes, in accordance with governance policies and procedures.
- Develop presentations to present projects and status updates to various governing committees, as needed.
- Oversee the job close out process, ensuring that all jobs are closed out in a timely manner and that materials are reconciled correctly.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to oversee the mapping process, ensuring that Georgia Power’s mapping system is appropriately updated with field changes in a timely manner.
- Investigate outages on Grid circuits to verify that Grid circuits are operating as expected and involve appropriate stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
- Develop and continuously improve an inclusive and trusting team culture.

- Provide leadership during storm events, as needed.
Other Requirements
- Travel is sometimes required.
- Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance to Atlanta.
- This job requires 4-days a week in the office.
