The Senior Finance Analyst will be part of the Digital and Kuiper Business Partnership (BP) Team within Finance Operations (FinOps). The BP team is seeking an exceptionally talented and deeply focused Analyst who can build reporting objects and uses analytics to influence business outcomes. To support the growth of Digital and Kuiper businesses at Amazon, this candidate must possess a strong passion for accountability, setting high standards, raising the bar, and driving results through constant focus on improving existing and future state operations, systems, and processes.
This role on the BP team will be a key driver of developing analytical solutions that empower one of the world’s largest Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams to operate at scale and resolve process defects. This includes driving process improvements across these businesses, tech teams, and other stakeholders in order to implement scalable solutions.
Key job responsibilities
* Business partner with AP and AR leaders across Service Centers and Headquarter locations to identify, plan and execute on analytical opportunities that enable identification and reduction of transactional defects and work drivers, goal performance measurements, new business expansion health metrics, and operational analysis.
* Define key performance indicators – develop metrics and service level agreements for core programs and processes, and track delivery against program objectives.
* Communicate new/updated programs, policies, and processes to leaders, employees, and cross functional organizations.
* Drive resolution of critical issues for vendors as well as support processes/systems deep dives to ensure root cause analysis and correction resulting in improved customer experience.
* Develop mechanisms to seamlessly support new program and tool launches worldwide.
* Identifying and quantifying financial and operational risks and opportunities both internal to Finance Operations and to the business, driving ad-hoc projects as required.
* Work cross-organizationally and functionally to identify key opportunities in process, technical, and human interfaces and developing and implementing plans to capitalize on those opportunities and measure and monitor success and impacts.
A day in the life
The Analyst will be in charge of building high-performing analytics products relying on SQL, Excel and Tableau / QuickSight. The role will business partner across global Finance Operations to become an expert in core business processes, and will work backwards to enhance metric governance, identify and action analytical opportunities, and leverage data to build compelling business cases that influence our operations.
