The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead specialty space programs and help drive global occupancy planning decision making. GREF is responsible for Amazon’s corporate office portfolio, creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations, all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon. Within GREF, the Global Occupancy Planning (OP) team establishes and builds all mechanisms and systems that GREF utilizes for managing global space allocation, working closely with GREF OP Tools, GREF Tech and GREF’s Space Planning teams within their respective regional portfolio management orgs.
In this role, you will serve as the single threaded owner for special programs, overseeing the intake process and creating scalable mechanisms to ensure successful delivery within the approved timeline and budget. Amazon’s special programs range from remote management facilities (RMFs), prototyping labs, executive briefing centers, war rooms, skill centers, quantum computing, broadcast operations, robotics, video studios and more. You will leverage your business partnering, relationship building, strategic planning, organizational research, and program management skills to integrate the interests of enterprise partners with business requirements. You will establish global standards to streamline the development and management of special space, identifying opportunities to drive optimization and cost avoidance strategies. This high visibility role will impact the success of the GREF organization and directly impact business partners across the company. The position requires strong customer centric strategic planning, analytical skills, problem solving, and excellent communication skills. This role will lead with curiosity and work collaboratively to solve problems across complex systems. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a must. Key job responsibilities
• Establishes mechanisms to streamline and deliver a better service process for the business (intake, tracking, etc) by creating standards for how special programs are executed globally to measure performance for on time, under budget delivery
• Strategize cross functionally within GREF to identify opportunities to co-locate new requests with similar programs, evaluate underused space and identify possible optimization strategies
• Identify cost avoidance and optimization options; inclusive of opportunities, risks, and recommendations / options leading to final leadership support and spend approvals
• Map out current state business processes to identify bottlenecks and gaps for optimization
• Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and identify root causes across ambiguous and evolving problem spaces
• Analyze large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve data quality and reporting automation
• Drive ad-hoc analyses on space and occupancy planning and customer trends
